Benefit Cosmetics Haul-Georgia, Coralista and Bad Gal Lash Mascara

January 18, 2014: I was shocked to know that my benefit stuff was fake. The details are in this post. Please beware of fake cosmetics being sold in Islamabad. I suffered a great loss but those who are responsible, hopefully will rot in hell as they've surely tricked thousands of other people. I won\t delete this post as you can see the fake ones quite clearly. I purchased these from National Warehouse Cosmetics Store Facebook Page. They were located in Islamabad and also launched a boutique named Black Arazi some time later. Please be aware of these frauds. They have removed their Facebook pages but I'm not sure if the stores are still operating.

This is my first ever purchase from Benefit Cosmetics. I have been reading so much about their fake it kits, concealing products and all. I recently placed my first order to give their stuff a try. I got Georgia, which is a sheer peachy powder, Coralista blush and Bad Gal Lash mascara.
They came in packaged in a pretty transparent cosmetic case, which I carry around when traveling.

Starting off with Coralista, this is one of brand’s best selling blushes and is highly recommended for Asian skin tones. I have read about it on top makeup and beauty blogs and just couldn’t resist getting one for myself.

The packaging reminds of the Australian coral reefs and Brazilian culture. I seriously have fallen in love with the packaging of Benefit products, as in my case, packaging matters a lot. The adorable box is made out of hard card board and is the size of an engagement ring box. The top holds on firmly to the other half. The blush is a warm pink, perfect for medium skin tones. It is not very pigmented and will take two brush strokes to pick the product. I’m ok with stroking the brush a few times then having to pick a lot of product with one swipe which will probably go wasted. Like Georgia, it comes with a flat top synthetic bristled brush, but I don’t use it due to the bristle roughness. It is the perfect summer go to blush and will very well go with fairer skin tones. It smells like nothing, although I would’ve liked a nice fruity fragrance, but that’s ok. The box contains 120 grams of the product.

Rating: 4.5/5

Georgia, is a subtle “just peachy” face powder, as it says on the packaging. The box is a nice peach and black contrast and the same size as Coralista. The powder is a beautiful peach color, and has a feather light texture. It’s that perfect highlight for my medium complexion. It does not produce color, but produces just enough glow to make the skin seem fresh. If you’re looking for a peach blush like color, this is not for you. It is completely fragrance free and I’m happy about the fact that it does not fall out due to its micro fine pressed formulation. It comes with a wooden brush with synthetic bristles, which I don’t really like, as the bristles are just too rough to rub on the skin. I use my soft blush brush to wear this. The box contains 11 grams of the product. Also, it is limited edition.

Rating: 4/5

As for the Bad Gal Lash Mascara, to be honest I am not into mascaras at all, but since I thought I needed one, I wanted it to be a onetime quality investment, which I’ll not cry about later on. So while going through the product range, I spotted the Bad Gal Lash mascara. My main concern was clumping, which does happen a lot with mascaras, this one however, did not clump at all. So that’s a plus. It’s creamy and does not feel heavy on the lashes. I wore it at a wedding and my lashes were voluptuous throughout the evening and did not dry out. It is not water proof, but did not give me panda eyes when I washed my face. Yaay!

As for the packaging, the tube is sturdy and looks very professional. The only thing I did not like is the air pressure inside the tube requires more force to pull out the top. The brush holds on to the lashes well and is convenient to work with. The Bad Gal mascara comes only in a shade Black. The tube holds 8.5 grams of the product.

Rating: 4/5

Actual Result

Price: Coralista: $28, Georgia: $28, Bad Gal Lash Mascara: $19

Available: In Pakistan Benefit Cosmetics can be ordered through Facebook from Enhanced Beauty

Official Website: Benefit Cosmetics

Conclusion: I’m pleased to give Benefit Cosmetics a try. They are no new name when it comes to quality and I’m certainly willing to try more from their range. Recommended? Oh Yeh!

  1. I hope you ordered these online and not from some Pakistani store. Islamabad stores (DWatson f6) is full of fake benefit. Also make sure the Facebook shop you use doesn't order their products through eBay. It's all fake! I've been there done that :(
    Great blog you have here.

  2. P.s. I hope you don't mind my previous comment. I'm just a. Concerned reader and what made me wonder was when you said Georgia is fragrance free. If you google Georgia you'll see it was discontinued a long time ago and used to smell like peaches. Another thing that worries me is that you mentioned the brush bristles being scratchy and shedding in your previous post. Benefit brushes are quite good quality and soft. They're not an ideal shape to apply blush for me but, mine hasnt shed a single bristle. Also google fake benefit and you'll see what I mean. I'm in love with this brand and have quite a lot of HG products from them. I hope I have been of some help. I actually did an entire post on my blog about fake benefit and gave the shopkeepers here who were selling fake benefit a very hard time :)
    Sorry for the long comment.

    1. Hi, a lot of facebook pages don't stock benefit cosmetics on a regular basis. However, you can always place a pre order :) Hash is a good page to order through. https://www.facebook.com/hashpakistan?fref=nf
