L'Oréal Glam Shine Pearly Nude Glow and Energetic Carat-Review, Photos, Swatches

Newest additions to my lip gloss collection. I am addicted to L'Oréal glam shine glosses and I couldn't resist getting these while I spotted them at a local store.

The first one from the pair is No 406 Pearly Nude Glow from the Natural Glow range. It is very sheer and just like the name indicates, it is a basic nude shade with a pearl finish. The second is No 162 Energetic Carat from the Diamant range and is a nice warm coral-red (slight orange undertone) that leaves a diamond shine finish. Both of them do not bleed off if worn during hot weather, are moisturizing and leave the lips soft even after fading away.

Pearly Nude Glow comes with a hint of gold glitter and glides on nicely with the applicator. It is your basic everyday nude, which can be worn alone or over a lipstick. It's great for medium to dark skin tones but I'd suggest fair girls to stay away from this shade as it can make you look ghostly. It does not transfer a lot of color, so girls looking for color should stay away as well. It has a mild scent which is not disturbing and is gone when applied. The only drawback is the staying power. This one hardly lasts 30 minutes or so that too, if your lips don't touch a glass or food.

Energetic Carat on the other hand, has glitter specs in it and is a nice reddish toned shade which will pretty much suit every skin tone. But remember it too is kind of sheer and does not have a full coverage color payoff. It smells different but not stingy. It is a slightly thicker formulation and applies smoothly. What I don't like about it is the usual, staying power issue. L'Oréal really needs to work on this. The product is amazing but this little lacking takes away a rating point.

The other shades I have are No 403 Magnetic Rose Glow (natural Nude Pink and this one is my favorite), No 167 Coral Carat (warm coral shade with gold glitter specs) and No 155 Plum Blush (warm plum with red glitter specs).

The L'Oréal Glam Shine lip gloss comes in various ranges and shades and each bottle contains 6 ml of the product.

Rating: 4/5

Take it:

If you prefer sheer lip glosses
You want moisturized lips
You don't mind reapplying

Leave it:

You prefer full coverage
You don't like the color range
You think it's pricey

Price: Rs 495/-  (prices may vary)
Available at: You'll find it locally at major general/ super stores and malls across the country. Sadly it is not available online on any cosmetics shopping websites in Pakistan that I know of.
Official Website: L'Oréal Paris (USA)
Facebook Page: L'Oreal Paris USA

Conclusion: They give the lips a glam and fabulous finish and are a perfect wear for day and night. They're a best buy, if you ignore the staying power. Recommended? Yes.
