Urban Decay Smoked Eye Shadow Palette-Review, Photos, Swatches+Look

Company/Brand Claim: This palette is no more available on the website or at Sephora, therefore I could not find the brand claim.

Result: I finally had a chance to grab one of Urban Decay's finest offerings, The Smoked eye shadow palette, which has an extended version out now namely, The Smoky Palette. But I was most interested in this one after the Naked 2.
It comes in a cardboard box with all the necessary details mentioned. The palette itself is a zippered wristlet which looks pretty funky. Inside are 10 eye shadows of which 4 are matte and the rest are shimmer shades. The palette also comes with a full size 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in the shade Perversion and an original travel size primer potion. It comes with a built in mirror. Sadly mine broke during shipment. Lets talk about the colors.

Kinky: The first shade in the palette, this one is a basic ivory. This is more of a highlighting shade and can be worn in the inner corner of the eye and under the eye brow.

Freestyle: This is a peachy nude. Works as a base and transition shade.

Mushroom: Is a medium grayish silver.

Backdoor: This is a dark oak brown and my favorite shade from the palette.

Blackout: The basic carbon black. Absolutely beautiful.

Barlust: A shimmery dark brown.

Rockstar: A deep purple perfect for party makeup and bridal looks.

Evidence: A deep blue that can be coordinated with darker blues to create stunning looks.

Loaded: An emerald green also great for wedding makeup looks.

Asphalt: The last of the bunch is a gunmetal silver with an ash like color.

The first thing I noticed is that all the shades are quite pigmented except for Evidence and Asphalt, which takes a few swipes to get a good blue. Even kinky and freestyle are quite visible if applied without a primer. The matte shades are a bit powdery but they don't have a lot of fallout. The texture is nice and smooth and the mattes blend more easily than the shimmers. Eye makeup lightens after a few hours if done without a primer. The palette also comes with a look book created by the brand which contains sultry makeup looks to try.

Cons: Mattes are powdery, some shades are not as pigmented

Urban Decay Smoked Eye Shadow Palette has a new version namely, The Smoky Palette.

Rating: 4.5/5

Conclusion: Overall, it's a beautiful palette which offers quite a lot for the price. I may not have to look for another palette for smokey eyes. Recommended? Yes.
