Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks in 114 Show Stopper and 118 Crush-Review, Photos, Swatches

Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks

Company/Brand Claim: The high-performance lipstick formula is fused with a blend of Bamboo Extract, Shea Butter and Vitamin E. The unique Shea Butter moisture complex provides a creamy, non-drying, long-lasting color to indulge the lips. The velvety-smooth texture enriched with Bamboo Extract provides an emollient and soothing action to protect and hydrate the lips. Vitamin E eases the application of the lipstick by providing anti-aging and anti radical action for smooth and supple lips.

Result: The Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks are a matte finish, light and buildable lipsticks, packaged in beautiful bold black plastic tubes combined with gold, rest in a slide out box covered with an extra case. I bought Crush, is a bubble gum pink and slightly sheer and Show Stopper which is deep pink with a hint of red and somewhat creamy. They smell kind of fruity, which is nice. I apply them by starting off from the center of my lips and move in both directions. Crush applies patchy but Show Stopper applies rather smoothly. Crush wears off within an hour. Show Stopper stays a little longer. It is mandatory to apply a lip balm or chap stick prior to wearing any of these lipsticks especially if you have naturally dry lips. Otherwise they're quite a hassle to handle.

I bought Crush thinking it would work as an everyday neutral lipstick but for me it isn't working as I thought it would. I try to build it and the color gets darker and the kind of pink that turns up does not suit my skin tone. I have to blot and lighten it again eventually and just can't work with it. Plus, it tends to set in fine lines and the lips begin to feel dry soon after application.

Show Stopper, I thought was a deep red, a color I've been after for a long time now, but it turned out a deep reddish pink instead. I don't regret buying it though, as the color is beautiful and looks good on me. Show stopper is quite pigmented and the color transfers on the lips with one swipe. It brightens up a smile when applied but eventually dries the lips.

Cons: Setting in fine lines and patchy application of Crush. They'll transfer on glass and food.

Color Studio Professional Pure Matt Lipsticks come in 28 shades ranging from neutrals to deep colors.

Rating: 3.5/5

Take it:

You're looking for an everyday lipstick
You want a matte finish
You don't mind reapplying

Leave it:

You don't like the patchy application
It dries your lips
You don't like the staying power
You don't like the color range
You find it expensive

Price: Rs. 750/-
Available at: Available online at Just4girls.pk  and Beauty Arena.pk and super stores and malls across Pakistan.

Conclusion: The colors seem different on screen and turn out different in real. I'd suggest getting from the counters instead. This product could have been a winner if the moisture level was taken care of. Recommended? Try before you go for more.
